Both the TV and Arts & Culture Export programmes, which represent a first for the region, have been designed to facilitate and accelerate the export of West Yorkshire’s burgeoning creative sector by giving companies the insight to enable them to identify and understand the international opportunities within their individual sectors and create robust export strategies.

Victoria Powell, Indielab’s founder and programme director, says: “This is an exciting time for the creative industries in West Yorkshire; with the continued commitment to invest in the nations and regions of the UK we aim to support West Yorks’ creative industries to the next level through the delivery of these programmes. Working with our partners from across the TV and Arts & Culture sectors, we have designed a targeted Export programme that will provide participants with the knowledge, skills and expertise needed to successfully position, monetise and manage their content in the global marketplace.”

The two Export Programmes will deliver targeted modules over a three-month period, commencing in September 2022. Through a programme of coached sessions and 1-2-1’s with industry experts, participants will learn about global market trends, access bespoke advice for their business and open opportunities in the main export markets for their content, with access to OneMip, MIPCOM’s online networking platform. In addition, companies will have access to Indielab Connect, the social network launched in spring 2020 in response to the COVID-19 lockdown.
